“Therefore we also pray always for you that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness and the work of faith and power.” 2nd Thessalonians 1:11
Intercession, in order to be effective, must always keep eternity in view.
Ekkelsia prayer is standing in the gap for our churches, communities and nation. However, in keeping with Jesus’ model prayer, we must pray that “thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”
We are praying for eternity to touch time! We want His will to be seen on earth! We want His Kingdom (government) to evidence righteousness here!
When praying for others and their needs, we ask God to touch them with healing (eternity), that their sickness would leave. We pray that God would lift the heart of those who are discouraged (with a touch of heaven).
In every case, prayer is the method by which God brings eternity to touch time and space. Let us continue to press in and intercede for people and nations!
